If you're not put off by the dirty and dark stairwells then you might not mind the stained
and shabby rooms at this exhausted and dingy hotel. On a positive note, it has a useful loc-
ation at the bottom end of town. Consider it a backup option if others are full.

The pink-painted rooms are clean (if a little small) at this friendly hotel, and hot water is
available most of the time in the simple bathrooms. Back rooms are bright and sunny with
valley views.

Midrange Land Cruiser groups like this modern, new place for its clean, good quality (but
smallish) rooms, en-suite bathrooms and decent breakfasts.

The modern rooms in this government-run hotel are comfortable by Tibetan standards, and
back rooms have great mountain views. It's popular with Western groups. The cheaper
rooms with shared bathroom are used mostly by drivers and guides. There's wi-fi but only
in the lobby.
Eating
Zhāngmù feels like a mini-Kathmandu, at least in its restaurant options, which offer an ex-
cellent selection of Western, Chinese, Tibetan and Nepali cuisine.
