Across from the Rongphu Monastery Guesthouse, this ugly government hotel has rooms
that are simple but clean. There are fine views from the comfortable restaurant and view-
ing terraces but, despite the price, you won't get a private bathroom or a shower.
Getting There & Away
There is no public transport to Everest Base Camp. It's either trek in or come with your
own 4WD. From Chay it's 91km to Base Camp; from Tingri it's around 70km.
