Four Points HOTEL
(, Fúpéng Xĭláidēng Jiǔdiàn MAP

Bolinka Lu; r ¥935; )
After only a couple of years under the Tibetan sun the paint is starting to peel off this four-
star Sheraton property. It's functional rather than luxurious (no gym, no pool) but there's
pleasant courtyard seating and some nice touches, like a room humidifier for Lhasa's dry
climate.
InterContinental Resort Lhasa Paradise LUXURY HOTEL
(, Shèngdì Tiāntáng Zhōujì Dàjiǔdiàn GOOGLE MAP ;
656 9999; 1 Jiangsu Donglu; r from ¥2000;
)
This new monstrosity of glass pyramids in Lhasa's far eastern suburbs is so architecturally
out of place that it feels more like a science experiment than a hotel. It plans to eventually
operate an amazing 2000 rooms and 10 restaurants. The hotel has been the focus of a vocal
Free Tibet campaign, run under the biting slogan 'all rooms occupied'.
Lhasa Gang-Gyen Hotel HOTEL
(, Gāngjiān Fàndiàn MAP
GOOGLE MAP ;
630 5555; 83 Beijing Donglu; d with breakfast ¥680;
)
Modern and quiet four-star place popular with groups, with spacious, modern and clean
rooms. Discounted agency rates as low as ¥300 can make this place a steal.
Thangka Hotel HOTEL
(, Kāngkǎ Jiǔdiàn MAP
GOOGLE MAP ;
636 7322; 38 Yuthok Lam/Yutuo Lu; r ¥480/680, ste
¥880; )
A modern, friendly and comfortable four-star place with some Tibetan touches and a
super-convenient location near Barkhor Sq. Standard rooms are best value, as superior and
'palace view' rooms don't offer much extra.
