most frequently utilized photoaffinity labels since they are relatively easy to
synthesize, handle, and quite stable at physiological pH. 9,10 Thusamorecomplete
understanding of the photochemistry of a given aryl azide is a basic requisite for
its use in PAL. In this chapter, we will discuss the reactions and intermediates
generated on photolysis and thermolysis of fluoro aryl azides and some examples
of the application of these reagents in PAL and organic synthesis.
11.2 PHOTOCHEMISTRY OF PHENYL AZIDE: A GENERAL
