This exquisite late-19th-century cul-de-sac hotel has eight generously sized rooms (minim-
um 17 sq metres) and five two-room apartments (minimum 25 sq metres), done up with
medieval-style touches. All are equipped with kitchenettes (induction cooktops, fridge, mi-
crowave and dishes), making them particularly handy for families and market goers.

Located on a lively, restaurant-lined thoroughfare, this 31-room hotel is a veritable bargain
in the centre of the action. The rooms are basic and there's no lift, but the public areas are
very evocative of vieux Paris (old Paris), with beamed ceilings and ancient stone walls.
Room rates include breakfast.

HÔTEL DE NESLE

toilet €75/85, with toilet €85/120; ; Odéon or Mabillon)
Most of the Nesle's 20 rooms - all with shower but not all with toilet - are painted with
brightly coloured naïve murals inspired by French literature. But its greatest asset is the
huge (by Parisian standards) garden - a backyard really - accessible from the 1st floor, with
pathways, trellis and even a small fountain. Phone reservations only.
