The concrete-block shopping mall opposite Gare Montparnasse includes a
branch of department store Galeries Lafayette. Savvy fashion shoppers head
to the southern 14e to shop for discount designer wear, while the 15e is filled
with specialist addresses. In the 13e you'll find Asian grocery stores and su-
permarkets in Chinatown, and an enormous state-of-the-art shopping mall at
place d'Italie.

pads, watercolours, oils, acrylics, canvases and more at this historic shop. Picasso, Brancusi
and Giacometti were among Édouard Adam's clients. Another seminal client was Yves
Klein, with whom Adam developed the ultramarine 'Klein blue' - the VLB25 'Klein Blue'
varnish is sold exclusively here.

If you like the bouquiniste stalls along the Seine, you'll adore this enormous secondhand and
antiquarian book market adjacent to beautiful Parc Georges Brassens. More than 60 vendors
sell their wares beneath the pavilions of this former abattoir. Most (but not all) books are in
French, ranging from €1 euro paperbacks all the way to coveted collectors' editions.
