Clattering with diners until late in the night, Hao Hao cooks up cheap, filling and delicious
Chinese dishes such as Sichuan chicken in its open kitchen. If you want to push the boat out,

Set back off the street adjoining a shopping mall, this enormous restaurant specialising in
Cantonese and Chiu Chow cuisine is a real favourite in Chinatown, particularly with large
groups (it has plenty of room to accommodate them). The live-tank seafood and traditional
dim sum are especially good. Dancing accompanied by a live orchestra takes place on Fri-
day and Saturday nights.

In a pin-drop-quiet back street you'd never stumble on by chance, this light-filled restaurant
is a diamond find. It's framed by huge glass windows and artfully decorated with large-scale
photographs; square white plates showcase the colours and textures of brothers Philippe and
Pierre Tondetta's Italian-accented offerings such as rack of lamb accompanied by polenta
with olives and aged parmesan.

This wonderfully traditional restaurant is a perfect choice for honest-to-goodness, heartily
proportioned dishes like pan-fried veal in black truffle sauce and Grand Marnier soufflé. It's
popular with locals (so popular that it's not only extended its hours but opened a Right Bank
restaurant too), so book ahead to avoid a lengthy wait.
