Alain Milliat's fruit juices, bottled in the south of France, were once reserved for ultra-ex-
clusive hotels and restaurants. But you can pop into his Parisian juice bar-bistro to buy one
of the 33 varieties of juice and nectar, or sip them in house. Stunning flavours include rosé-
grape or green-tomato juice and white-peach nectar.
Milliat's jams and compotes are equally lush; try them during the bountiful weekend
brunch (noon to 3pm Saturday, noon to 4pm Sun; €38).
ENTERTAINMENT
St-Germain and especially Les Invalides aren't major nightlife destinations -
eating, drinking and, above all, shopping are the main entertainment here. For
live music, check for events in bars along Les Berges de Seine , or head to the
Latin Quarter or the floating nightclubs in Montparnasse and Southern Paris.
Cinemagoers are well catered for, with multiplexes concentrated around the
Odéon metro station on bd St-Germain.

chansons or oriental music, these weekly concerts starting at 7.30pm are a real treat. Art and
photography exhibitions, cinema, theatre, lectures, debates and guided walks round off the
packed cultural agenda.

This 19th-century Japanese pagoda was converted into a cinema in the 1930s and remains
the most atmospheric spot in Paris to catch arthouse and classic films. Don't miss a moment
or two in its bamboo-enshrined garden.
