COCKTAIL BAR
MOJITO LAB
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; www.mojitolab.com ; 28 rue Keller, 11e;
11am-2am Mon-Sat, 5pm-2am Sun;
; Bastille)
A good deal classier than pretty much any bar in the Bastille area, the Lab is a study in
mojito mixology - some 20 versions, such as jelly mojito, made with French banana mint -
are available for connoisseurs. Ninety-minute mixing classes (with/without canapés €45/35)
are also held here, beginning at 6pm and 8pm (except Wednesday and Sunday).
BAR
LES FUNAMBULES
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; 12 rue Faidherbe, 11e; 7.30am-2am; ; Faidherbe-Chaligny)
Like so many small cafes in Paris, Les Funambules turns into a fashionable bar as evening
approaches. While the original architecture provides character (check out the frescoes, bird-
cages and a stunning coffered ceiling with chandelier), nowadays the terrace is crammed
with beautiful people on warm summer evenings.
BAR
TROLL CAFÉ
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; www.trollcafe.fr ; 27 rue de Cotte, 12e; 5pm-2am; Ledru-Rollin)
This fun-loving music and beer bar just up from the Marché d'Aligre takes Brittany as its
theme (at least the eponymous Troll is supposedly from there), but its beer selection (over
100 bottled varieties plus many on tap) is primarily Belgian.
BAR
LE BISTROT DU PEINTRE
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; www.bistrotdupeintre.com ; 116 av Ledru-Rollin, 11e;
7am-2am;
;
Ledru-Rollin)
This lovely belle époque bistro and wine bar could just as easily count as a restaurant rather
than a drinking place; after all, the Auvergne-inspired dishes are great. But it's the 1902 art
nouveau bar, elegant terrace and spot-on service that have put it on the apéritif A-list of loc-
al artists, bobos and local celebs.
COCKTAIL BAR
LE CHINA
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; www.lechina.eu ; 50 rue de Charenton, 12e;
noon-2am Mon-Thu, noon-4am
Fri & Sat, 5pm-2am Sun;
Ledru-Rollin or Bastille)
