This wonderful shop and gallery, owned and operated by the charitable Compagnie du
Sénégal et de l'Afrique de l'Ouest (CSAO; Senegal and West Africa Company), distributes
the work of African craftspeople and artists. Many of the colourful fabrics and weavings are
exquisite. Included are items handmade from recycled handbags, aluminium cans and
tomato-paste tins.

Coco-ginger bites, caramels and chocolate sculptures are among the sweet treats created by
this master chocolate maker from Brittany. But it's his syrupy, chewy kouignettes (Breton
butter cakes unusually made in mini dimensions and different flavours; €2.50 per 100g) that
steal the show. Oh, and the glass jars of caramel au beurre salé (butter caramel) sold with a
small spoon…
