lunchtime menu is. Pick from a small but select choice of meat and fish dishes, and savour
the grandeur of traditional French bistro cooking. Should you fall in love with the unusual
wine you drank, nip into the restaurant's tiny shop across the street, L'Épicerie .

( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; 01 42 72 28 41; www.chezjanou.com ; 2 rue Roger Verlomme, 3e; mains

Push your way in, order a kir from the jam-packed bar while you wait for a table, and revel
in the buzz of this busy spot. Cuisine is as close as you get to Provençal in Paris, with all the
southern classics like brandade de morue (salt-cod pure ́ e with potatoes), ratatouille and
lavender-scented crème brulée .
It offers 80 different pastis types. And is not recommended for the claustrophobic (unless
it is summer and you succeed in nabbing a seat on the terrace).
