The Café qui Parle is a fine example of where modern-day eateries are headed in Paris. It
offers inventive, reasonably priced dishes prepared by owner-chef Damian Moeuf amid
comfortable surroundings. Regulars love the art on the walls and ancient safes down below
(the building was once a bank). A popular brunch is served on weekends, though it gets
mixed reviews.

and chicken at this gourmet sit-down deli. There's no overwrought buzz about the place, and
even if the menu feels pricey, the dishes won't disappoint.

Attached to the arty hotel of the same name, this buzzing hot spot is a cross between an
American diner and a hip French bistro. The food is definitely not gourmet (croque mon-
sieur, bacon cheeseburger), but it is served nonstop until midnight, making this a great after-
hours stop. There is also fantastic garden seating - if you can get it.

Chez Plumeau caters to those who have just had their portraits done on place du Tertre. But
for a tourist haunt it's not too bad (it even has veggie options), and the back terrace is great
on a warm spring or summer afternoon.
