Oh how dandy this trendy drawing room with wooden façade, leather Chesterfields and old-
fashioned gramophone is! It's a gentlemen's club in soul, yes, but creative cocktails are
shaken for both him and her, and never more so during happy hour (7pm to 10.30pm Tues-
day and Thursday) when cocktails dip in price.
Favourites include I Wanna be This Drink (rum, strawberry juice, fresh raspberries and
balsamic vinegar caramel) and the Grand Marnier-based Cucumber Cooler.

The Garde Robe is possibly the only bar in the world to serve alcohol alongside a 'detox'
menu. While you probably shouldn't come here for the full-on cleansing experience, you can
definitely expect excellent, affordable natural wines, a casual atmosphere and a good selec-
tion of eats, ranging from the standard cheese and charcuterie plates to more adventurous
veg-friendly options.

A short walk from the Pompidou, the Rocket is a lively, laid-back indie hang-out with a red-
and-white striped awning strung with fairy lights outside, and paint-peeling, tobacco-col-
oured walls indoors. You can grab simple meals here (€8 to €13), and it's got a decent wine
selection by the glass.

It's glitzy and chic, a definite after-dark dress-up spot. But what really gives this hybrid bar-
restaurant wow factor is its courtyard terrace - covered in winter, open and star-topped in
summer. Cocktails are shaken from 5pm.
