More than 80 cocktails are detailed on the menu of this classy, dark timber-panelled cocktail
bar footsteps from place de la Madeleine. All are painstakingly made to order and, in this
neighbourhood, they don't come cheap, but are worth the wait and the price.

With its archetypal belle époque decor (brass fittings, polished wood, large murals) and ex-
cellent wines by the glass, this old-style brasserie is an atmospheric spot for an afternoon
coffee or evening drink.

This perfect little wine bar is one of the best places to listen to traditional French
chansons
and local singer-songwriters. Performances begin at 10pm Tuesday to Saturday and 7pm on
Sunday. Entry is free; reservations are recommended if you plan on dining.

Opened by the founder of the Moulin Rouge in 1888, the Olympia has hosted all the big
names over the years, from Édith Piaf to Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Buckley, though it's small
enough to put on a fairly intimate show.
