Consultation was undertaken on the scope and design of the SEA. A scoping
workshop was held towards the end of 2002 and a scoping report was produced. Some
changes to the scope of the SEA were introduced as a result of the consultation responses
received, for example by including a wider range of socio-economic impacts which had
been identified as important by a number of consultees (DTI 2003a). The environmental
report produced at the end of the SEA process provided information on:
