This is the best restaurant in the city for regional food, which is served in generous portions. The menu is meat-
and fish- oriented and includes surubim (catfish) with tomato and banana, caiman and manioc moqueca soup,
and huge filets of beef. À la carte dishes can take up to 30 minutes to prepare.

The food in this little restaurant, which is hidden away in a private condominium, is very standard Brazilian fare
mainly comprising meats, beans, and rice. But the views out over the cliffs at the edge of the Chapada to the
interminable plains of Mato Grosso are spectacular and well worth a visit. An entrance fee is charged.

A bustling restaurant bar popular with Corumbá's growing young middle class, Avalom is especially lively after
9pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Draught beer, river fish, pasta, and wood-fired pizzas are served to a busy crowd.
There is occasional live music on weekends.

Cuiabá has one of the largest communities of ethnic Lebanese and Syrians in Latin America, and this is their
favorite restaurant, serving some of the best Arabic food in the country. Dishes include an excellent mezze with
falafel , baba ghanoush and stuffed vine leaves, and good couscous and tagine.
