Capim Santo began as an informal fish restaurant in Trancoso. Once the town was discovered by international
celebrities, the restaurant became one of the most fashionable places to dine. It recreates Bahian informality with

healthy Mediterranean-inspired dishes and salads. The dining area is a bright, elongated room with its outer wall
made almost entirely of glass. Excellent coffee is served.

JAM is an acronym for Japanese food, art, and music, all of which are presented in a tastefully designed, modern
space. The food is classical Japanese, the art contemporary Brazilian, and the music ranges from samba rock to bossa

This is an upmarket restaurant decorated with Indian art and with a large bar area beloved of cigar smokers. The
menu is excellent, with naan (Indian bread) and a series of chutneys. The curries, although tasty, are underspiced
