Tropicalismo
was a form of Brazilian music that arose in the
late 1960s from a mix of

Veloso and Gilberto Gil, were driven by political activism
following the coup of 1964. Inspired in part by
tropicalismo

(MPB), or popular Brazilian music,
includes many Brazilian musical styles and is the most popular

REGIONAL MUSIC
Although MPB covers a multitude
of Brazilian musical genres, there
are a number of distinctive regional

reggae, hip-hop, soul, funk, rock and
