São Paulo's urban environment
makes outdoor attractions for
children few and far between,
although there are some
popular amusement and
theme parks scattered across
the city. However, the biggest
attraction, the largest theme
park in Latin America, the
Playcenter
, is 50 miles (80 km)
from the city. The city also
boasts the
Fundação Parque
Zoológico de São Paulo
(São
Paulo Zoo), set in a state
preserve of coastal rainforest.
Soccer is an obsession in São
Paulo, as it is throughout the
country, and the city has the
most prestigious soccer teams
in Brazil. There are three First
Division teams based in São
Paulo who play in the impres-
sive Morumbi and Pacaembu
stadiums.
Estádio Morumbi
is the home ground of São
Paulo Futebol Clube. Matches
are generally held on
Wednesday and at the week-
end. To watch a game check
the schedules in ticket offices.
