3.1 Operating Modes of the CHP Unit
Depending upon requirements, the mCHP unit can operate using different types of
operating modes (electricity and/or heat-driven). Time-variant operating modes
may be implemented by means of an energy management system, which selects the
optimum operating mode for the speci
c requirements.

Heat-driven operating mode
The heat demand is always the control variable for CHP operating in the heat-
driven operating mode. The generated electricity has to be supplied for own use
or to be fed into the grid.
