In addition to the above near-field results, we next show the
directivity, as calculated from (14.9), for the Ag-based CNP. This is
shown in Fig. 14.12 for lossless and passive ( κ = 0) and super-
resonant ( κ =− 0.245) Ag-based CNP in the case of a z -oriented
EHD being located inside the nano-core at 12 nm along the positive
x -axis. Specifically, the E-plane ( xz -plane) pattern results are shown
in Fig. 14.12a and the H-plane ( xy -plane) pattern results are shown
in Fig. 14.12b. Despite the large levels of the NRR reported in Fig.
14.10b, the directivity of the super-resonant state, which is clearly
dipolar, is not enhanced relative to that of an isolated z -oriented
