Most importantly, you will want to assess the stability of the vendor
company itself. How long has the company been in business? Is it in dan-
ger of being acquired or merged with another company? You then need to
request a price estimate from interested bidders/sources.
The procurement plan should describe this effort in terms of the
approach to the market survey, the functional requirements of the prod-
ucts/services to be acquired, the prospective sources, and the competi-
tive environment.
