Tag clouds were popularized by websites such as Flickr and Technorati.
They serve a very useful purpose for software engineers by providing a way
to classify, organize, and prioritize the results of any meetings. Because
individual tags can serve as hyperlinks, it is possible to use this as a way
to store increasingly granular levels of information. Perhaps the most well
known of cloud tag generators is Wordle (www.wordle.net/create).
SUMMARY
This chapter has explored the possibilities that social networking presents
to various types of organizations, particularly to IT. While tools other
than Oracle have been presented (as they are the most familiar to us), the
Oracle platform does provide the wherewithal to design and build a social
platform for customers and IT folks alike.
