The portfolio is known as the Local Development Framework (LDF) and includes
several different types of plan together with documents concerned with the
management of the planning process (Figure 19.1).
The plans are collectively referred to as 'local development documents'. They are
subdivided into
development plan documents (which form part of the statutory development plan),
and
supplementary planning documents (such as design briefs for individual sites) which
are advisory in nature.
(Details of the development plan documents are given in the next section.)
The other documents which are obligatory comprise
• a local development scheme (a timetable for the preparation of plans)
• a statement of community involvement
• an annual monitoring report.
