WATER 'MEATBALL' FOUNTAIN
Flanked by the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche and the Europa-Center, bustling
Breitscheidplatz is where everyone from foot-sore tourists to buskers and skate-
boarding teens gather, in particular around its quirky fountain (World Fountain; MAP
GOOGLE MAP ; Breitscheidplatz; 100, Kurfürstendamm, Zoologischer Garten, Zoologischer
Garten) , a 1983 creation of local artist Joachim Schmettau. Nicknamed Wasserklops
(water meatball), it's made from red granite and bronze, and festooned with sculp-
tures of humans and animals.
