In-Depth Information
The grand complex consists of the main building and three smaller structures scattered
about the sprawling Schlossgarten Charlottenburg (palace park), which is part formal
French baroque, part unruly English landscape and all idyllic playground. Hidden among
the shady paths, flower beds, lawns, mature trees and carp pond are two smaller buildings,
the sombre Mausoleum and the playful Belvedere. The palace exterior is undergoing phased
renovations until 2016, but there should be no major disruptions to the visiting schedule.
