Berlin cocktail luminary Gregor Scholl's newest 'laboratory' occupies the machine room of
a defunct 19th-century brewery. Amid stuffed animals, mushroom tables and other whimsic-
al Hansel-and-Gretel decor, you get to enjoy extravagant twists on time-tested classics.
Fairy Floss - a Sazerac topped with absinthe-laced cotton candy - never fails to elicits oohs
and aahs.

On the same site where Joseph Pfeffer founded a brewery in 1841, the team from Pfeffer-
bräu once again churn out delicious suds brewed in giant copper vats right on the premises.
Sit in the woodsy beer hall or the leafy beer garden with a view of Senefelder Platz and en-
joy a glass of hoppy Helles or the malty Dunkles.

Potent java, homemade cakes, and flowers from the attached shop perfume the art nouveau
interior of this corner cafe named for a 1919 Dadaist poem by German artist Kurt Schwit-
ters. In fine weather the footpath terrace is the best people-watching perch. Great for break-
fast, especially the tiered tray for two.
