'German vegan' has not been an oxymoron since Kopps opened as Berlin's first high-end
animal-product-free restaurant. The menu follows the seasons and might bring barbecued
buckwheat burgers, smoked tomato soup or chanterelle risotto.
The space is sparse but stylish, with bluish-grey walls and recycled doors and mirrors in
unexpected places. Note the lunch specials, full cocktail menu and opulent weekend brunch.

Manga films, light projections and long communal tables characterise this restaurant tucked
into its own courtyard next to the Hackesche Höfe. The menu hopscotches from Thailand to
China, via Japan and Vietnam, and back. In summer, the terrace beckons.

With two Michelin stars to this name, Daniel Achilles creates poetry on a plate and pairs it
punctiliously with wines from Germany and Spain. Clear lines and a glass bubble canopy
give the space an elegant, unhurried ambience. Choose from the 'quite near' menu with its
regional focus or the 'far away' menu, which draws upon cosmopolitan influences.
