Christian Boltanski's 1990 memorial installation on the site of a bombed-out apart-
ment building. Signs bearing the names of its former residents are affixed to the

Some 12,000 people were buried here between 1672 and 1827, including Enlighten-
ment philosopher Moses Mendelssohn.

bours three small museums dealing with the fate of Jews under the Nazis.
