NEED TO KNOW
Tickets
Generally, buy tickets at the gallery or museum. Blockbuster visiting shows often sell
out so it's best to prepurchase tickets online.
Most private collections require advance registration; reserve months ahead for the
Sammlung Boros.
Commercial galleries do not charge admission. Most hold vernissage (opening) and
finissage (closing) parties.
The Berlin Museum Pass buys admission to about 50 museums and galleries for a
three-day period. Available at participating museums and the tourist offices.
Opening Hours
The big museums and galleries are typically open from 10am to 6pm, with extended
viewing one day a week, usually Thursday. Many are closed on Mondays.
Commercial galleries tend to be open from noon to 6pm Tuesday to Saturday and by
appointment.
