In-Depth Information
There's street art pretty much everywhere, but the area around U-Bahn station Schles-
isches Tor in Kreuzberg has some house-wall-size classics, including pieces by Blu and the
Brazilian twins Os Gemeos. Skalitzer Strasse is also a fertile hunting ground with Victor
Ash's
Astronaut
and ROA's
Nature Morte
being highlights (look for them on the north side
of the tracks when riding the above-ground U1).
Across the Spree River in Friedrichshain, the RAW Gelände has plenty of great stuff, es-
pecially at the Urban Spree Bar & Gallery. Around Boxhagener Platz you'll find works by
Boxi, Alias and El Bocho. In Mitte, there's plenty of art underneath the S-Bahn arches al-
though the undisputed hub is the courtyard of Haus Schwarzenberg. Prenzlauer Berg has the
Mauerpark, where budding artists may legally polish their skills along a section of the Ber-
lin Wall. In the entryway of the Tuntenhaus at Kastanienallee 86 are nice works by Alias
and El Bocho.
