Notes: In the Namur Station, leave the train-platform area via an underground
ramp. Once on the ramp, walk past sortie 1 to sortie 2 and take the stairs to the
street level. Bear toward the right around the “C & A” store and proceed to the park,
where the tourist office will be in plain view.
If you would like to revisit the 18th century, go to Namur. It is one of the most at-
tractive towns in Belgium. The tourist office offers several excellent walking tours
and theme tours. It can also provide personalized tours upon request. For the foot-
sore and those wanting to range farther afield, book an “All-in-One” ticket that in-
cludes boat tours, harborside attractions, and the Citadel of Namur, complete with
underground explorations.
Brussels (Bruxelles)—Namur
At least 2 trains hourly depart Midi/Zuid at 3 and 33 minutes after the hour; journey
time 1 hour. Trains depart first from Midi/Zuid, then from Central, and then from
Nord.
Returning trains depart Namur at 21 and 51 minutes after the hour, until 2221; jour-
ney time 1 hour. Trains arrive first at Nord, then Central, and then Midi/Zuid. Last
train departs at 2221.

On Saturday morning, don't miss the colorful flower market at the Place du Pal-
ais de Justice and the Leopold Square shopping center. Probably you will not find
such a concentration of museums and monuments anywhere else in Europe.
The dominating landmark of Namur— the Citadel —looms on its skyline. It is in
the center of the Parc du Champeau. The walk there can be delightful. The tourist
