Ireland—France and Vice Versa
Trains connecting Dublin with the Irish Ferries services that sail from the port of
Rosslare, south of Dublin, to the French ports of Cherbourg and Roscoff use Dub-
lin's Connolly Station. A sign directing visitors to the nearby tourist information of-
fice on O'Connell Street is located on the right side of the concourse. Connolly Sta-
tion is also the terminal in Dublin for trains arriving from Northern Ireland.
Eurail travelers are entitled to a 50 percent discount for deck passage on
the Irish Ferries route between Rosslare and Cherbourg or Roscoff. Meals and
sleeping accommodations are extra. Sailings operate April through September:
Advance booking is highly recommended. Journey time between
Rosslare-Cherbourg is 16.5 hours; between Rosslare-Roscoff, 18 hours. All pas-
sages are overnight. Check-in points are usually open two hours prior to sailing
times. Passengers are requested to check in no later than one hour prior to sailing
times.
