Rheinfelden is home of Switzerland's largest brewery, Feldschlösschen. Tours
are available on an irregular basis. Excellent restaurants and beer stubes are loc-
ated at the brewery.
Clustered about the bridge entrance are several eating places offering menus
ranging from light snacks to full-course meals. Want to picnic by the Rhine? Pick
up some cheese, bread, and wine at one of the market stalls and have your repast
on the island as the Rhine provides the background.
Saline deposits were discovered under the town in 1844, and Rheinfelden
quickly developed into an international spa. Its natural brine, which is one of the
