Arriving by Air

• Located just 10 kilometers from the city center, Chopin Airport is the busiest air-
port in Poland, and handles around fifty percent of the passenger traffic in the
country.
• Airport-City Links: Bus route 175 runs every 20 minutes Monday-Friday, every
30 minutes Saturday-Sunday, and takes you to the Centralna rail station in about
20 minutes. Fare 3.60 zł.
• Taxis are available just outside the arrivals area. Fare to the city center is about
60 zł; journey time, 20 to 30 minutes.
Arriving by Train
Warsaw Centralna is the main rail station in Warsaw, and it handles international
service and most long-distance domestic traffic. There are suburban rail and light
rail stations adjoining the main station. The Centralna station was built under Com-
munist rule. It is not well laid out, and the government is considering options for its
replacement. There are some shops and restaurants in the lower level of the sta-
tion, but there are better places to eat and shop. There are relatively few English-
speaking employees, so if you need tickets or railpass validation, be sure to write
your dates, and have this confirmed before the pass is validated.
