Drammen
(40 kilometers from Oslo): Important center of Norway's timber and
paper industries. There are many attractive buildings in town dating from the 17th
century. Have your camera handy—the city covers the headwaters of the Dram-
mensfjorden, where it joins the river, and the docks teem with seafaring activities.
Tonsberg
(103 kilometers from Oslo): The oldest town in Norway and the seat
for centuries of its Viking kings. The Oseberg Viking ship now resting in the Oslo
