On the night trains, sleeper cars contain one, two, or three beds per compart-
ment, and couchettes and/or reclining seats are available on some trains.
NSB accepts the multicountry variety of Eurail passes, including Eurail Select
Pass, the Eurail Scandinavia Pass (for rail travel in Denmark, Finland, Norway,
and Sweden), and the Eurail Norway Pass. Eurail bonuses include:
• 50 percent discount on the Color Line steamship fare between Norway and Den-
mark. Crossings: Kristiansand-Hirthals, Moss-Hirthals, Moss-Frederikshavn,
Larvik-Frederikshavn, Larvik-Skagen.
• 25 percent reductions on ferry crossings (daytime) between Kristiansand and
Hirtshals (Denmark) and between Larvik and Frederikshavn (Denmark).
• Ferry reduction of 25 percent on Flaggruten ANS: Bergen-Haugesund and
Stavanger.
• Reduction of 30 percent on the Flåmsbana private railroad from Myrdal to Flåm.
Seat reservations are compulsory (NOK 20) on InterCity (ICE) trains and most
other express trains. Supplement is charged for use of the ICE's “Bureau car” and
for the “Saloon car,” which includes a meal.
