A basic city sightseeing tour by bus departs from platform No. 5 at the downtown
bus terminal next to the rail station. The tour takes 2 hours and 15 minutes and
departs every 20 minutes between 0940 and 1720 from the end of March to mid-
November (on Saturday and Sunday only the remainder of the year). It includes
the Old Town, the rail station district, the fortress ruins, the casemates (under-
ground outside fortifications), European Center, and Luxembourg's version of Wall
Street—the banking district. The tour fee for adults is €14; children ages 5 to 15,
€7.
The Bock and Pétrusse Casemates are two unique networks of underground
fortifications, one of the most interesting being the archaeological crypt in the
Bock Casemates. This room presents an audiovisual show relating the history of
the casemates. Hours: March 1-October 31: 1000-1800. Admission: €9 adults,
€5 children. The Pétrusse Casemates are open Easter, Whitsunday, and during
school holidays. Guided tours are 1100 to 1600 daily.
The City Promenade is a guided tour departing from the tourist office at Place
Guillaume II at 1200 and 1400 daily (April through October), at 1300 Monday, Wed-
nesday, Saturday, and Sunday (November through April) on foot. It encompasses
the City Palace, the outside casemates, Place de la Constitution, the Government
District, the Holy Ghost Plateau, the Corniche, the Monument of the Millennium,
