Notes: To visit this office, exit the main entrance of Roma Termini, skirt the left
side of the city square in front of the station, and proceed past Museo
Nazionale Romano (the National Roman Museum) to Via Parigi. Turn right at
that point, then look for the office on the left-hand side of the street.

• For tours in Rome and vicinity, the tourist office in the main hall of the railway
station will be happy to oblige. There are several other “Tourist Information
Points” including in Terminal B (International Arrivals) at Fiumicino Airport.

Getting Around in Rome
Rome's public transport is plentiful, with bus, metro (underground), and metropol-
itan rail systems. Visit www.atac.roma.it . Metrebus Tickets are valid for travel on
all three forms. You must validate your ticket before boarding the metro and trains.
Validate your ticket on buses at the orange stamping machine. The fine ranges
between €50 and €500 if you're caught without a validated ticket. Metrebus Tickets
are sold at tobacconists, bars, newsstands, travel agencies, and in the metro, bus,
and railway stations. Single trip (€1.50), daily (€6), three-day (€16.50), and weekly
(€24) tickets are available.
Legitimate taxis in Rome are moderate in price and equipped with meters. Be-
ware of the “cab-and-coin” taxis. The driver is more than happy to take you where
you want to go, but probably at three times the regular rate. Ask your hotel person-
nel to hail a taxi for you or telephone one of the radio-dispatched taxis: (06) 3570,
(06) 6645, (06) 8822, (06) 4157, (06) 4994, or (06) 5551.
Sights/Attractions/Tours
Since Rome is so vast, you may want to take some organized tours to see all of it.
