Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport sometime in late 2016. When the expan-
tion to allow this is completed, almost all air traffic into and out of Berlin will be
moved to the new airport, and Tegal will close. Airport Express train service to
Berlin Hbf Station (RE7 and RB14) every half hour 0430 to 2300; journey time 31

Arriving by Train
On May 28, 2006, a new central train station opened in Berlin, combining most
of the arrivals and departures that used to be separated between two other sta-
tions. These two stations, Zoologischer Garten (known as “Zoo Station” or “Zoo-
bahnhof”) and Ostbahnhof were replaced by the Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Hbf). Many
trains that arrive at Hauptbahnhof also stop at either Zoobahnhof or Ostbahnhof,
but the primary transfer point is Hauptbahnhof. There is a tourist information office
on the ground floor, open daily 0800-2000. The S-Bahn trains and the city's U-
Bahn (subway) connect the two stations. Money exchange is available on the first

Berlin Hauptbahnhof Station
The train station is centrally located in Berlin, only a few blocks from the Reichstag,
the parliament building of Germany, used from 1894 until 1933 and then again
since 1999, after its complete reconstruction; it is one of the most visited sites in
Berlin.
On the ground floor of the station near the large clock there is the “Service-
Point” customer service desk. The helpful personnel there are available 24 hours a
day and able to assist with train schedules, hotel or car reservations, and any oth-
er questions. The station has a shopping mall attached to the terminal itself, with
ATMs, money exchange, rental cars, and numerous other services available.
