Arriving by Train
Paris has six major railway stations, but arriving there by train from one of the other
base cities listed in this edition of Europe by Eurail will place you either in Gare du
Nord (North), Gare de l'Est (East), Gare de Lyon, Gare d'Austerlitz, or Gare Mont-
parnasse. Details of these stations follow.
Transfers between rail stations in Paris may be made by bus, Métro, or taxi. If
you have baggage, a taxi is your best bet. There are, however, inter-station buses
that provide baggage storage. Rule out the Métro unless you are without baggage.
Suggestion: Consult the conductor on your train at least 30 minutes prior to arrival.
If you are transferring between stations to continue your journey, the railroad is ob-
liged to assist you. For train information in France, call 08 90 036 10 10.
