The Saint Benigne Cathedral probably holds the record for being destroyed
and rebuilt more times than any other place of worship in France—four times since
its origins back in the sixth century! The current church was built between 1281
and 1325. Also constructed in the 13th century, the Church of Notre Dame in Di-
jon fared better over the centuries. Both edifices are typical Burgundian Gothic.
One of the newer attractions in Dijon includes the University of Bourgogne.
The Centre International d'Etudes Françaises attracts students from all over the
world to study the French language and culture.

streets. Reach the tourist office by either tramway in the direction of Grand Place,
