There are many cafeterias and restaurants in the station. All information is in
three languages—Finnish, Swedish, and English. Helsinki's Central Station con-
nects with an underground shopping area—a great place to pick up a loaf of crusty
bread, tasty cheese, and a beer when returning late from a day excursion.
Arriving by Ship
The Tallink-Silja Line ferries from Stockholm arrive at Helsinki's Eteläsatama dock.
Tallink-Silja Finnjet and Viking Line ferries dock at Katajanokka Pier. Each ferry
company maintains spacious passenger facilities complete with food services,
lounges, currency exchanges, and connections to public transportation. Shipping
activities in the harbor present many photographic opportunities. If you are con-
tinuing your Eurail journey back aboard the Tallink-Silja Line, a money exchange
service is offered aboard by the ship's purser.
