In-Depth Information
The station is served by 12 tracks joined by 6 exits as you ascend from train
level to the station's arrival area. For your orientation, upon arrival you may exit
in a northerly or an easterly direction. Tivoli Gardens flank the station's east side,
and a huge square fronts the station to the north. The Arrival Hall serves mainly
for baggage handling. The lost-and-found office and the politi (police station) are
alongside Tracks 11 and 12.
Most services are located in the north departure area: the SAS coach terminal, a
cafeteria, and an excellent restaurant in the northwest corner. Taxi service is avail-
able at both the north and the east exits. City bus lines also serve the station, but
inquire at the train information office before using one. Train arrival-and-departure
information is displayed in bulletin form at both the arrival exits and the east and
west entrances. Modern, airport-style digital displays give train-departure informa-
tion automatically at each departure gate and on the train platforms. Elevator ser-
vice and stairways are available between the station and the train platforms. If you
are using a baggage cart, be certain to use the elevators.
Baggage storage: Lockers are available in two sizes—the small one is DKK 25;
the large one is DKK 35 for 24 hours. Baggage carts require a DKK 10 or DKK
20 coin (the carts accept either) refundable deposit.
Money exchange: Den Danske Bank is located along the northwest side. It also
has ATMs. Hours: 0600-2000 daily. A similar banking facility (FOREX) may be
found in the row of shops on the ground level near the Bernsdorffsgade side.
Hours: 0800-2100.
Train information: Opposite McDonald's (near the bank). Hours: 0600-2230
daily. Tel: 33 14 17 01. For complicated questions, go to the train information of-
fice (RejseCenter) around the corner in the lobby leading to the Vesterbrogade
exit. Hours: 0800-2000 daily. Take a numbered ticket from the distributor near
the entrance. Push “Domestic” if your question refers to local travel within Den-
mark; push “International” for travel outside of Denmark or to have your rail
pass validated. Small monitor screens at the top of the escalators leading to
each platform give arrivals/departures from that track. Other monitors showing
all arrivals/departures within the next hour or so are near the two main en-
trances to the station and along the wall between Tracks 6 and 7.
Train reservations: RejseCenter on the north side of the station, just opposite
the departure gates for Tracks 1/2 and 3/4. Inside the office, take a number for
domestic or international assistance. Hours: 0930-1800 daily. International
Reservations: Tel: 33 14 30 88; Domestic Reservations: Tel: 33 14 88 00.
