kilometers southeast of Copenhagen. Most international flights to and from Den-

vices to Copenhagen, and there are several daily connections to/from all other ma-
jor European airports.
Airport-City Links: The airport rail terminal links the airport to the Copenhagen
main railway station (København H.) by train; departures every 10 minutes. The rail
ticket office is located in Terminal 3 above the rail platforms. One-way ticket, DKK
36; journey takes 12 minutes.
Taxi service from the airport to city center costs DKK 250-300 depending on time
of day (price includes taxes/tips). Nighttime rates are the most expensive. You can
pay by credit card.
There are banks and ATMs in Terminal 3 (the Arrival Hall for all international
flights); one is in the corridor leading to Terminal 2. Hours: 0600-2200 daily. There
is a DSB (Danish Railways) ticket office near the escalators leading to the train plat-
forms in Terminal 3, straight ahead after exiting from Customs. Hours: 0630-2330
daily. This office can validate your rail pass.
Arriving by Train
There are direct train connections from Copenhagen to major cities in Europe, in-
cluding Stockholm, Oslo, Hamburg, and Basel.
Copenhagen has four major railway stations, but primarily the central station,
København Hovedbanegaard, is of concern to rail pass travelers. Signs in and
approaching the station are marked KØBENHAVN H. The abbreviation of Hovedbaneg-
aard (Central Station), an “H,” reflects the efficiency of this huge train complex right
in the heart of the city. The tracks run below street level, and the architecture of the
station blends well with the locale. København H. is suggestive of a great Viking hall
with two great wooden archways that span its enclosed area.
