Differences Between Simulated Qubits and Physical Qubits
17. List all differences between simulated and physical qubits.
18. Show with sketches of waveforms, that synchronized multivibrator qubits at
the same frequency will provide identical outputs if sampled with synchronized
pulses.
19. Simulated qubits applied as controlled toggles may operate as an array in which
one qubit, if its output is true, causes another to toggle. This requires a bus.
(a) Design a primordial processor using four controlled toggle circuits. You
may use numbered mechanical switches as required to open and close
circuits to accomplish toggles.
(b) Initialize 16 toggles to zero. Write a procedure to determine whether or not
one of the toggles was secretly changed to “1” behind your back. (HINT:
Include a 17th toggle initialized to zero to serve as a “flag.” It is succes-
sively connected to each output and is toggled only if it sees a “1.”)
(c) Under what conditions would the flag fail. (HINT: If an even number of
1s occur)
