baby uses the right brain for nonverbal skills, but soon develops a language
template in the left brain. Overall, the right and left hemispheres are tightly
connected. If one-half becomes inoperative, the other half can take over.
Glial Cells, Neuroglia, or Glia
Glial cells, approximately one for each neuron, form myelin, which insulates parts
of neurons, and glial cells provide support and protection for neurons in the brain,
and for neurons in other parts of the nervous system.
