in total N, but > 40% in N mineralization and microbial biomass N after
18 years of barley straw incorporation in Denmark. Whilst our approach to
prediction of the effects of trash management on soil C and N has provided
useful insights, the trash management effects are likely to be more fully
understood with the aid of system simulation models such as APSIM
(Thorburn et al ., Chapter 2.4).
