Moscow's favourite bookshop is huge, with lots of reference and souvenir books devoted to
language, art and history, and a good selection of maps and travel guides. A user-friendly
computerised catalogue will help you find what you're looking for. Just to prove that Rus-
sia's consumer culture can keep up with the best of them, this old-school bookshop now has
a coffee shop on the ground floor.
CLOTHING
RAZU MIKHINA WORKSHOP
11am-7pm; Kurskaya)
London-trained fashion designer Darya Razumikhina described her genre as 'ethnofuturism'.
One may detect Russian and South Asian influences in her bright, multichrome clothes. The
shop also sells jewellery.
SOUVENIRS
OCHEVIDNOYENEVEROYATNOYE

True to its name, which translates as 'Evidentlyimprobable', this is the place to shop for sur-
real gifts and souvenirs - from a lamp shaped as an oil rig to a toilet-paper roll that allows
the owner to learn a new Russian word before using each sheet. The Soviet theme is well
represented in notebooks and passport covers.
PERFUMES
COSMOTHEKA

Here you'll find perfume brands that you won't come by in a duty-free shop. All fringe inter-
national and Russian perfume producers are welcome, while Dior and the likes are not. The
