Everything at Ugolyok is perfectly pleasing to the eye, from the slick post-industrial interi-
or, to the funky but fine tableware, to the tantalising food and drinks laid before you. For-
tunately, it tastes good too, as deliciously fresh ingredients are mixed up in unusual ways.

Moscow is raving about the 'Near East'. Foodies love the superfresh seafood prepared in the
wok, on the grill or in the oven - all in plain sight of the diners. The Japanese-designed in-

stolle
is a tradi-
tional Saxon Christmas cake: the selection of sweets and savouries sits on the counter, fresh
from the oven. It may be difficult to decide (mushroom or meat, apricot or apple?), but you
really can't go wrong.

Rare is the restaurant in Moscow that is both fashionable and affordable, but Botanika pulls
it off. It offers light, modern fare, with plenty of soups, salads and grills. Wood furniture and
subtle floral prints complement the garden-themed decor, all of which makes for an enjoy-
able, all-natural eating experience.
